Schools Terms & Conditions
1. Tuition
1.1
The MK Music Co-operative (MKMC) sends the school a calendar and a link to the school order form on the MKMC website, approximately 8 weeks prior to the close of the current academic year, to gain the new instrumental / vocal tuition requirements for the upcoming academic year. The form should be submitted to MKMC by the specified date in the email communication. In future terms of this academic year, if notice is not received by the office, MKMC will assume that the current provision will continue. Tuition may be cancelled for the end of a term (i.e. December, March/April or July) by giving half a term’s notice (October, February, May).
1.2
MKMC will send an invoice to the school shortly before the start of each term.
This should be paid within 30 days of the invoice date.
1.3
If payment is not received, MKMC reserves the right to withdraw tuition services.
2. Milton Keynes Music Co-operative is responsible for
2.1
Sourcing suitable self employed teachers to provide tuition as requested.
2.2
Providing administrative services.
2.3
Resolving issues as required.
3. The School is responsible for
3.1
- Providing a suitable teaching room to include adequate space, heat, natural light, ventilation and a viewing window.
Ensuring the parent will follow relevant safeguarding terms, as issued with this order form, should the need for an online lesson take place.
3.2
Ensuring that all musical teaching equipment is in good working order.
3.3
Ensuring that pupils are able to attend lessons during the school day.
3.4
- The health and safety of teachers whilst on school premises.
- Ensuring the safeguarding terms have been issued to the parents /pupils/carers should online lessons need to be delivered .
3.5
Providing teachers with information on relevant school policies and procedures, e.g. child protection, fire/emergency etc.
3.6
Keeping teachers informed of any school closures, trips, teacher training days etc. which would prevent them from delivering lessons.
4. Changes to Tuition Order
4.1
Any changes to the tuition during the course of a term must be agreed with the teacher delivering the tuition and with MKMC. Additional tuition will be invoiced accordingly. A decrease in time will be deemed as a cancellation; please refer to clause Tuition clause 1.1
4.2
The School is asked to give the Co-operative reasonable notice of school closure which will affect delivery of lessons. In the case of pre-planned closure e.g. teacher-training days, school visits and exams, 7 days written notice is required.
4.3
On receipt of 7 days notice, the Co-op teacher concerned will endeavor to make up the missed lesson. If not possible the school will be issued a credit note.
4.4
If 7 days notice is not possible the Co-op teacher will again endeavour to make up the lesson, but if not possible a credit note will not be issued.
4.5
If a Co-op teacher is unable to attend for lessons they will again endeavor to make up the lesson. If this is not possible, a credit note will be issued for the following term.
5. Credit
5.1
If a teacher is unable to deliver the full quota of lessons a credit note and OR refund will be issued.
6. Liability
6.1
The Co-operative does not accept any liability for loss or damage to any personal possessions or personal injury, however caused. Each Teacher-Member of MKMC has their own Public Liability Insurance.
7. Terms & Conditions
7.1
The Co-operative reserves the right to alter the above Terms and Conditions with half a term’s notice. Any decision made by the Co-operative concerning these Terms and Conditions shall be final.
7.2
Online lessons will carry the same terms and conditions in respect of fees and tuition.
7.3
All terms and conditions must be returned signed by an authorised member of staff.
